World class beach volleyball on the exotic African west coast!
Welcome to a week of top class beach volleyball, warm ocean breezes and unforgettable cultural experiences on the peninsula of Restinga, Angola's beach sports capital. Praia da Restinga, Lobito is just about 500 kilometers south of the capital Luanda, right on the beautiful and exotic Angolan coast.
This unique international camp is organized in cooperation with MAEF, Angola's leading beach volleyball academy founded by Angolan Olympians and African champions. The camp consists of 7 training sessions, beach volleyball tournaments, social events and great camp activites.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE DATES
The 15th of September is the main day of arrival and the 21st is the departure day for the camp. The courts and balls are available during these days. At 5pm a social tournament will be held for those who get there in time on the day of arrival. This is a great way to get to know the other participants. The coaches will be at the courts to welcome participants and answer potential question. The first official training starts Tuesday morning.

Accommodation
There are several hotels, which varies in price range, available in Lobito. We recommend Hotel Terminus or Casa Rosa.

4-star international standard with sea views situated on the beach in the center of Praia da Restinga. The Hotel Terminus features a restaurant, bar and fresh water pools for adults and children. There are sun loungers and umbrellas by the pool and on the beach.

A 3-star rated affordable hotel apporximately 15 minutes walk from the beach camps. It offers a nice pool and a simple breakfast is included.​

Getting There
You book your own trip to Lobito and there are regular international flights to Angola with

INBOUND TRAVEL
Option 1: Domestic flight
Luanda to Catumbela with TAAG Angola Airlines. Airport is approx 15 minutes by taxi from Lobito.

Option 2: Intercity Bus
Luanda to Lobito with Macon Transport. Approx 9 hrs travel, departure every 2 hrs.
​
Option 3: Rent a car - Luanda to Lobito
There are many operators, i.e. Europcar.
Practical info
Vaccines & Health
In order to enter Angola you are required to be (valid) vaccinated against yellow fever. Malaria is present in the regions - we recommend anti-malarian prophylaxis and using mosquito repellent and netting.
Check with your local travel clinic at least 4 weeks before departure.
Payment & Money
The official currency in Angola is the Kwanza (AOA).
Some major hotels and restaurants accept VISA, including Hotel Teminus and Luna Ocean Club.
For payments at local markets or smaller vendors, cash in Kwanzas is necessary. Most Angolan vendors do not accept Apple Pay or Vipps. There are some ATMs available in Lobito, but htey may have limits. We therefore reccommend bringing some USD or EUR cash for exchange at the airport.
Safety
Lobito is considered one of Angola's safest cities, especially around the Restinga peninsula where the camp is held. Still, always check any travel information from you government regarding the region, and follow the basic travel precautions:

CABO LEDO is located just 2 hours south of Luanda. A paradise for surfers and beach lovers, famous for its consistent waves and peaceful eco-resorts. Cabo Ledo is just 5-6 hours on the road from the beach camp in Lobido.

DESERT ADVENTURES
NAMIBE is a coastal desert region known for dramatic dunes, ancient rock formations and unique wildlife. Take a scenic drive or flight to Namibe via Lubango and spend a couple of nights at a desert lodge og coastal hotel. Join a desert safari or visit the Tundavala cliffs and Welwitschia plants
You may stay at Hotel Chik Chik Namibe or Praia de Soba.
Travel by plane btw Luanda and Namibe, or go by road on a full-day journey with scenic stops.
